Jay's 1986
Buick Grand National
Originally purchased in 1990, the car was extremely rough for having 36,000
miles. It belonged to a local college student who had a used and abused
this car. Coincidentlly, it was bought for me by my father so I would
have a way to get to college. Not a bad upgrade from my 1973 VW Beetle.
Eventually, this car was passed to my brother Jay so he could get to High
School. Work on this car started soon after I got cracked by a Mustang
GT. After that day, this car went through various appearance and
horse power upgrades. This is the nicest and fastest of the bunch.

Current Status: The car finally broke the 10’s on 1/5/2001. We were faced with the reality that in order to hit the 10’s without NOS, we would need to run about 30 to 31 pounds of boost. Obviously, this means a lot of stress on the motor. We chose to run a 75 shot of NOS and 25 pounds of boost. The Felpro makes it much more safer to run NOS as it can make the fuel corrections when necessary. Anyhow, it feels good to get into the 10’s.
